DASA is, Digital Audio Spectrum Analyzer, and is able to receive an audio data stream and is able to generate an RGB signal that displays the signal spectrum of the audio. The input audio signal is I2S standard. It is possible to pick eithe rthe left or the right channel, or alternatively a mono signal can be generated by averaging the two channels. The heart of the system is a programmable FIR filter, that divides the signal into nine differemt frequency bands and determines the amoplitude of each band. This information i sthen converted into a color video signal. The image is then overlayed on a background image that is stored in an external ROM and displayed.
